TASTING ROOM

The Looking Glass Tasting Room was established in the Spring of 2018 to provide a destination for folks to enjoy hyper-local "Farm to Beverage" wines, ciders, and meads.  Founded by the two Orange County wineries : Honeysuckle Meadery and the Botanist and the Barrel, the Tasting Room provides a relaxed atmosphere to sample North Carolina's best selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages that originate from regional farms and forests.

Honeysuckle Mead

We are admittedly biased... But we think Honeysuckle Mead is one of the most delicious meads on the market today.  We think this is in great part due to the fact that we use berries grown on a farm that people truly love.  Somehow, it ends up in the flavor profile.  We make our meads from local persimmons, figs, elderberries, blackberries, and paw paws, but are also exploring exciting new flavors originating from our Keith Farm and Arboretum which is home to the most diverse collection of temperate woody species in the United States and a 175 acre forest dominated by Sourwood and Chestnut Oaks.  As a result, our bees arguably make some of the most diverse honey in the world.

Tell us what you like, or give us an idea for our next local mead innovation!

BOTANIST AND BARREL

These folks were the first winery in Orange County, NC, and they do it right.  Whereas the Honeysuckle Meadery innovates in the mead space (honey-based wines), the Botanist and the Barrel make an eclectic, but scrumptious, collection of ciders and fruit wines.   Come to the Honeysuckle to see what the Botanist has brewed in their Barrels this time!

CHATHAM CIDER WORKS

A skip and a hop down the road in neighboring Chatham County, Chatham Cider Works makes a delicious dry cider from NC apples.

FAIR GAME BEVERAGE CO.

While we can't serve all of Fair Game's products (they run a distillery and a winery), we are excited to pour their wines and ciders at the Honeysuckle Meadery.  We love that they use a range of Southern fruits: Haw River Valley grapes, North Carolina mountain apples, peaches from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, and blackberries sourced from Virginia.

TRIBUCHA

Neighbors to the east in Cary, NC, Tribucha not only makes tasty Kombuchas. We love how they are innovating Kombucha/Beer brews, like their new Lucid Dreamer brew that combines Tribucha kombucha with local favorite Fortnite Beers.  Keep it up!

Boro-Beverage.png

BORO BEVERAGE

Brewed right in Carrboro, NC, Boro Beverage makes a tangy, fizzaliscious Kombucha.  We carry it because it is delicious, AND hyper local.

Starpoint.png

STARPOINT BREWING

Based in Carrboro, NC, Starpoint has been collaborating with the Honeysuckle Farm for some time, creating delicious braggots from our locally grown berries.  A good braggot requires a good brew base, and that is just what Starpoint delivers consistently.

MYSTERY BREWING

Right up the road in Hillsborough, NC, the brewers at Mystery Brewing make beers that are unfiltered, packed with flavor and adjust to the seasons.

HAW RIVER FARMHOUSE ALES

The Haw River in Saxapahaw, NC is home to a Haw River Farmhouse Ales. They are crafting special brews steeped in Belgian tradition, but elevated by local creativity. Full of flavor and native ingredients, they believe beer is more than just something you drink, but is also an experience meant to be shared with those around you. We agree!
